What's Behind a Name?
What is behind a name? Well two in twenty-two has a lot of meaning between myself and a group of girls that first played basketball for me from 1996- today. If you mention this phrase, some of them want to throw up, while others cringe and the rest, well haven't heard that since 1996. It became the dreaded words out of my mouth when they knew that there was running involved. It meant that the entire team had to make it baseline to baseline twice in 22 seconds. For some of you that don't run much or play basketball, this feat is very difficult. Some of my fastest girls on the team struggled with this. There would be days that we would start off with 8 sprints but because the entire team couldn't cut it in 22 seconds, those 8 turned into 20 or more. Once the season is over these girls appreciated 2 in 22 because we NEVER came across a team that was in better shape than we were. We won several games that we shouldn't have but because we were in better shape than our opponent we won in the end. Now I do believe that the coach in me now is much softer and easier than the coach that was in me 14 years ago(I will chalk that up to being a mom now, but more on that later).
